What is a Trunkshow? A trunkshow is a old term which manufacturers in the garment business used many years ago to ship their samples or actual inventory to the retailers in a “big trunk”. Today this tradition still continues to work for the retailer and the manufacturer. These samples or inventory shipped to the retailer are the “new-styles” for the upcoming season, something “only” retailers see months before the season starts. These trunkshows give you the perfect opportunity to preview exactly what the buyers of Jan’s Boutique preview in the New York showrooms months beforehand. You can sometimes purchase these garments or special order them in the color and size of your choice at the trunkshow. Trunkshows are a wonderful because it allows you to see “more” styles, enabling you to make an informed decision of which styles would look best on you. Jan’s hosts dozens of trunkshows throughout the year. 2008 Trunkshows Jovani • September 9-21 • Eveningwear Azul • September 12-14 • Couture Eveningwear Alyce • September 19-27 • Eveningwear Gail Garrison • September 19-21 • Couture Eveningwear • RSVP Willa Han • September 26-28 • Couture Eveningwear Terryl • September 25-29 • Sportswear----Sweaters -----Cashmere Zelda • October 3-5 • Dressy & Career separate Suiting and Outerwear Montage • October 3-5 • Eveningwear (Mother-of-the Bride/Groom) Daymor • October 10-13 • Eveningwear (Mother-of-the Bride/Groom) Rina di Montella • October 24-26 • Couture Eveningwear • RSVP Yansi Fugel • October 24-26 • Better Related Sportswear Separates Gail Garrison • November 1-2 • Couture Eveningwear • RSVP Joseph Ribkoff • November 7-9 • Better Sportswear |
